Marko PeljhanA theatre and radio director by profession, Marko Peljhan cofounded the Ljudmila digital media lab in Slovenia and is active in numerous tactical media communities. He founded the arts and technology organization Projekt Atol, the music label rx:tx and coordinates the ongoing mobile laboratory project Makrolab, focusing on telecommunications, migrations and weather systems in an intersection of art and science.

His work has been featured in published contemporary art anthologies (Fresh Cream, Art Tommorow) and extensively online and has been installed internationally including the Venice, Gwangju and Johannesburg Biennials, Documenta, Ars Electronica, ISEA, Manifesta, and numerous other exhibitions and museums, in Europe, Asia and the US among them P.S.1 MoMA and the New Museum in New York.

Marko Peljhan holds a joint appointment with the Department of Art and the Media Arts & Technology graduate program at UC Santa Barbara. More recently, he cofounded the Arctic Perspective Initiative (API), a non-profit, international group of individuals and organizations whose goal is to promote the creation of open authoring, communications and dissemination infrastructures for the circumpolar region.
