David Buckland is both artist and founder/director of the Cape Farewell project. He has had numerous solo exhibitions including the Pompidou Centre in Paris, The National Portrait gallery in London and the Espace Photographie. He has produced two films and created ‘lens based’ installations exhibited internationally.

He created the international Cape Farewell project, which is now in its 18th year. Over 300 artists and scientists have combined to focus their creative endeavors to address the climate change challenge. This has included eight expeditions into the High Arctic to inspire the making of new artworks, music, design and writing which have been exhibited in Museums worldwide and broadcast on terrestrial and internet media.

His illustrated presentation will focus on the creative and design output of the Cape Farewell project and how it addresses the climate challenge with a new vision and purpose.
