Harri Koskinen is a world renowned product designer based in Finland. His design studio, Friends of Industry, provides product and concept design as well as exhibition architecture for a diverse range of well known clients including Artek, Alessi, Finalndia Vodka Worldwide, Marimekko, Panaconic, Issey Miyake, and Swarovski.
Koskinen provides innovative solutions which are functional, yet beautiful, adhering to his rational aesthetic criteria based on rationality and dignity. He is best known for his 1996 block lamp which is now considered a Scandinavian design classic and is part of the Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection.
He has won many awards including the Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Prize 2009, the largest design prize in the world, the highly esteemed Compasso d’Oro Award in 2004 and the Pro Finlandia medal in 2007.
